Job Summary:

The Senior Purchase Manager will be responsible for leading the procurement function, managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely availability of raw materials, machinery, and consumables at optimum cost, and driving procurement strategies to support the manufacturing operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and manage vendor performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
  • Conduct cost analysis and market research to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Lead contract management, vendor agreements, and procurement documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Finance, Logistics) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Drive automation and process improvements in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Manage, mentor, and guide the procurement team for efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 4–5 years in a senior managerial role in manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of sourcing, procurement software/ERP, and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven ability to deliver cost savings and build a reliable supplier base.
