Role Description

Tax Quality Assurance Team is an independent audit function who ensures that the quality and accuracy of the validations performed by the (ORDS) Operations Reference Data Services and CLM Client Lifecycle Management (CLM only in Data Privacy Locations) for FATCA, CRS and MIFID2 are maintained to High Standards. We are a part of the Financial Crime Risk (FCR) and Compliance Business Control Office within Deutsche Bank that has both Tax and Know Your Customer Quality Assurance functions within the division. You will be joining this team at time when workflow systems used by ORDS are being upgraded and are undergoing major technological transformation introducing TAINA to automate FATCA CRS validations. This is a great opportunity to join the Tax QA team while we are on the course of expansion to meet the increase in the remit and responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

- Perform quality assurance on Tax forms validated in CTI and MiFID2 reviews completed via dbCAR/dbCLM against FATCA, Common Reporting Standards (CRS) MiFID2 Key Operating Procedures respectively.
- Acts as an SME to the process.
- Point of contact in absence of AVP.
- Arranging connects for the team with the Stakeholders
- Ensure that regulatory and audit deadlines and obligations are effectively met.
- Preparation of process KOP assisting the team in KOP accordingly.
- Monitoring the mailboxes in terms of processing and queries.
- Allocating the volumes within the team.
- Creating the backup within the team.
- Providing training to the new joiners.
- Ensuring the mandatory trainings are completed by the team and himself/herself within the time.
- Ensuring all the BAU reports are prepared and published within the given timeline.
- Process direction/take charge of team huddles and actively involved on calls projects.
- Should be able to manage multiple business lines / departments with appropriate controls.
- Should make informed decisions keeping business and other relevant departments in mind.
- Responsible to distribute work, assign account responsibilities coordinate necessary trainings within the process.
- Must be able to work well and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
- Adherence to standards and procedures and ensuring that there are no lapses or gaps in control.
- Ensure that process should be Audit ready all the time.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to all activities and create the environment for others to emulate this behavior.
- Understand and effectively manage risks through timely and accurate escalation
- Understand the purpose of the process performed, key risks and mitigating controls.
- Share knowledge and provide appropriate training, guidance or coaching for the team

- Investigate open items and resolve as required. Escalate unresolved open items per departmental policy

Control:

- Following the TAX processes and policies as per Global standards.
- Identify training needs of the team to improve performance.
- Effectively manages escalation notification to AVP with estimated potential or actual impact.
- Ensure all SLAs defined by the Business are adhered with full quality and timeliness.
- Preparing daily/weekly monthly reports where necessary.
- Provides transparency regarding operational incidents, root causes and proposed remediation. Plays a lead role in remediation.

Change:

- Proactively identify Risk areas and propose Controls or Process improvement ideas to manager.
- Enhancing the automation ideas in the process.
- Encouraging the SMEs of the team to work on process improvement ideas.
- Downloading and updating the team with the constant process changes.

Your skills and experience

- Minimum Bachelors degree or equivalent in relevant field
- Candidate should have at least 6 to 8 years of minimum work experience in TAX QA or KYC QA or related Processes
- Previous experience related to Tax and Regulations such as FATCA, CRS MiFID2
- Excellent communication skills is a must. Should communicate clearly with Business
- Microsoft Office/Suite proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Problem Solving Skills ability to think Out of the Box and independently work around issues that arise time to time.
- Ability to make the team work quickly and accurately, even under tight deadlines and should be flexible in working hours, also should be able to support in different time zones on rotational basis (if required).
