Job Overview

As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the organizations maintenance operations, ensuring that all facilities, equipment, and assets function optimally, safely, and efficiently. You will lead a skilled maintenance team, design strategic maintenance plans, and ensure seamless support to all departments to drive operational excellence. Prior experience in the FMCG industry is essential to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring skill development and high performance.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee all preventive and corrective maintenance activities across FMCG manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, supply chain) to reduce disruptions in operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of facilities and FMCG-specific machinery, identifying potential risks or improvement areas.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns, emergencies, and maintenance requests to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
  • Manage vendor relationships for outsourced maintenance services and specialized repairs.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Procure tools, spare parts, and consumables required for FMCG operations.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement in performance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, food safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and accountability across the maintenance team.
  • Recommend process improvements and technology upgrades to optimize FMCG operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in maintenance management within the FMCG industry (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of FMCG manufacturing machinery (packaging, processing, utilities, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety, food safety, and regulatory compliance within FMCG operations.
