Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Lead to oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting the month-end close process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor accounts payable team members to ensure high performance and accuracy.
- Review and approve invoices and payment runs in accordance with company policies.
- Monitor AP aging reports and ensure timely payment to vendors.
- Resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain strong internal controls and assist with audits and compliance requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the AP process.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and other departments to improve payment workflows.
- Analyze AP data and generate reports for management as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with process improvement or AP automation tools is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, CMA, or related certification (optional but desirable).
- Experience in a shared services or multinational environment.
- Familiarity with 3-way matching and procurement processes.
