Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel (Manufacturing Industry)

Experience: 8-10 years (Law firms & In-house)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced resource with 8-10 years of proven expertise both in law firms and in-house settings. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and spoken communication skills and have a strong understanding of the manufacturing sector, particularly related to procurement contracts for factory operations and product components (both direct and indirect supply).

Key Responsibilities:


• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to procurement of raw materials, parts, and indirect supplies for manufacturing operations.


• Provide legal support on contract lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal records and contract management systems.


• Ensure adherence to contractual rights and obligations, mitigating risks for the company.


• Engage proactively with internal stakeholders across procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance teams to provide timely legal advice and support.


• Collaborate with external counsel when required for specialized legal issues.


• Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations affecting the manufacturing industry and update relevant teams accordingly.


• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating agility, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities.


• Support dispute resolution processes if contractual issues arise.


• Provide legal support on employment laws and review non-factory related contracts, ensuring compliance with labor regulations and minimizing organizational risk.

Required Skills & Qualifications:


• 8-10 years of legal experience, with a blend of law firm and in-house roles preferred.


• Strong experience in contract law, specifically in procurement contracts related to manufacturing.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex legal concepts for diverse stakeholders.


• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.


• High attention to detail with strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.


• Proven multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.


• Creative and strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to legal risk management.


• Proficient with contract management software and legal research tools is a plus.


• Degree in Law (LLB/LLM) and membership with the Bar Council or equivalent.

Preferred:


• Experience in the manufacturing industry is highly preferred.


• Exposure to procurement and supply chain operations.
