Lead Accessories Engineer

Job Description SummaryDrives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. • Perform Compatibility Qualifications to support Locally Sourced Item (LSI) requests and Accessories New Product Introductions (NPIs)

• Lead/run NPI projects (of varying sizes and complexity)

• Reviews scheduling problems and implement solutions to mitigate at the lowest level, using project management tools and principles, and coordinating with management as needed

• Acts as a leader to influence matrixed cross-functions; create an environment where individuals can contribute to meeting team objectives

• Coordinate with people, up/down, laterally, inside/outside the organization to help achieve the business goals (for NPIs and LSIs)

• Understand and respond to the needs of internal/external customers, suppliers, and ultimately patients and healthcare professionals

• Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline the multiple processes involved with this part of the business

• Learn/understand the technical aspects of the 3rd party products of varying complexity (for example: ear plugs, X-ray protection, contrast injectors, heat exchangers, cardiac gating, uninterruptible power supplies) being brought to market and the associated GE HealthCare medical devices they will be sold with (Modalities include MRI, CT, MI, Vascular, Mammo, X-ray, or Ultrasound); understand potential need for compatibility and possible risks.  Some projects/LSIs will involve direct work/collaboration with Modality Engineers.

Qualifications:

• Minimum bachelor's degree in Engineering

• Minimum of 5+ years' work experience relevant to Healthcare/Medical Device

• Capable to review supplier mechanical or electrical designs to ensure they meet GE HealthCare requirements for compatibility

• Proven project management experience

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Teams

• Experience with web-based databases/information systems

• Must possess very good verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and decision-making ability

• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly at all organizational levels, globally

• Proven analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

• Experience specifically in the Medical Device or Healthcare industry

• Experience with MS Teams Planner, MS Teams Forms, and advanced MS Excel

• Power BI experience

• Knowledge of GE HealthCare web-based tools and processes like MyWorkshop (incl. ECR process), SQCS (SCR Process), Torus (for distribution authorization)

• Project Management certification

• Track record of strong performance, even with high levels of ambiguity

• Familiar with ISO Risk Management)
