Role Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director – Data Insights to lead a high-impact business insights function in our Bangalore office. This individual will be responsible for partnering with business leaders across the organization to define and deliver an insights roadmap aligned to key priorities across Sales, Product, Marketing, Services and Operations. The role requires a blend of technical analytics capability, business acumen, stakeholder management and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Define the long-term vision and roadmap for the Data Insights team in alignment with global priorities
- Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making across functional teams
- Build, manage, and mentor a team of analysts and data professionals in Bangalore
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary analytics partner to global stakeholders, understanding their objectives and proactively providing insights
- Collaborate with senior leaders in the US and India to shape business strategies using data
- Present findings and recommendations to executive audiences in a clear, concise, and actionable manner
Analytics Execution & Oversight
- Lead the design and execution of complex data analyses to uncover opportunities, measure performance, and inform business strategies
- Oversee the development of scalable dashboards, reporting frameworks, and analytical tools
- Ensure analytical output is robust, well-documented, and aligned with business goals
Data Governance & Best Practices
- Promote data accuracy, integrity, and governance by partnering with Engineering and IT teams
- Establish standard methodologies for analytics processes, KPI definitions, and reporting frameworks
- Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and techniques that improve analytical impact
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (e.g., Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Business)
- 15+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data strategy roles, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership capacity
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing analytics teams
- Strong expertise in SQL and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); familiarity with Python or R is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into business insights and influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in a global, cross-functional environment, preferably in a tech, SaaS, or education-related organization
