About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Support Engineer to join our growing startup. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring security and reliability across all office systems, laptops, and applications. This role requires hands-on technical expertise and the ability to provide timely support to our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Device & System Management:
  • Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Manage and monitor BitLocker encryption for endpoint security.
  • Ensure systems are updated with the latest patches and firmware.
  • Security & Protection:
  • Install, configure, and manage antivirus software across all devices.
  • Monitor and prevent potential breaches, malware, and phishing attacks.
  • Regularly review and enforce IT security policies and access controls.
  • Software & Applications:
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Teams and Outlook for all employees.
  • Ensure smooth integration and troubleshooting of Microsoft 365 services.
  • Support installation and updates of required applications.
  • System Monitoring & Maintenance:
  • Maintain up-to-date security patch levels across all systems.
  • Perform routine audits of IT systems for compliance and security posture.
  • Backup and recovery planning and support.
  • User Support & Training:
  • Provide first-line support for IT-related issues in-office and remote.
  • Train staff on IT best practices, security awareness, and safe usage of systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support or system administration (startup/SME experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, BitLocker, and endpoint security management.
  • Hands-on experience with antivirus software, patch management, and security monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Understanding of network security fundamentals (firewalls, VPNs, user access).
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or Google Workspace).
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation.
  • Knowledge of IT compliance frameworks and data security regulations.
