Job Description:

Should have knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 standards and handling all audits related to these, GPCB procedure.

? Having experience in imparting health and safety training, implementation and analysis of action plans related to the trainings.

? Having knowledge and well versed with Indian health & safety rules like Factories Act, Environment Protection Act and all other applicable legislations of safety & environment

? Aware about the functioning and procedures of legal departments

? Environmental health and safety managers inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards

? Recommend changes to protect and educate workers and employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs

? Investigate any accidents to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future

? Major role of EHS manager or officer is to prevent and eliminate any possible injury and sickness to the all employees and minimize

? Assist the company to comply with safety laws in a systematic and organized approach

? Periodical inspection of workplace and machinery to minimize and/or eliminate potential hazards such as; wrong working methods, high noise levels, contaminated drinking water, polluted air quality or toxic chemicals etc.

? Preparing EHS (Environmental Health and safety) plan for the project as per contract requirements

? Ensure compliances with statutory provisions and required documents

? Always raise awareness about safety amongst all employees of the company

? EHS officers and managers perform Internal & External EHS & ISO audits.

? Prepare for site inspections as when required.

? Maintaining good relations with government regulatory authorities.

? EHS / Safety officer maintains documentation for SOPs (Standard Operating procedures), machineries and environment related required for company and Government regulations

? Should have received professional training related to health and safety like: 1. First Aid training 2. Fire Fighting training 3. Training on Incident Investigation 4. Training on Inspection and Examination of Lifting Tools & Tackles
