Designation – Application Support Engineer -Innovation

Qualification – B.E./B.Tech(Computer Science/IT)

Roles & Responsibilities

An application support engineer is an IT professional who is responsible for troubleshooting the software applications a company uses and ensuring that help desk tickets are resolved in a timely fashion.

An application support engineer must understand how the application is supposed to work for the customer.

  • Providing software application support under the supervision of the Senior Engineer.
  • Performing analyses on software application functionality and suggesting improvements.
  • Ensuring effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications.
  • Consulting with the software development team, internal users, and clients to improve application performance.
  • Managing code migration across environments to ensure continued and synchronized functionality.
  • Establishing the root causes of application errors, and escalating serious concerns to the Senior Engineer.
  • Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.
  • Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics.
  • Providing front-end support to clients
  • Provide technical support for enterprise-level application systems.
  • Respond to general questions and trouble tickets in a timely manner.
  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for how to resolve an issue.
  • Prioritize multiple, open issues.
  • Document issue triage as troubleshooting progresses.
  • Perform customised developments in Applications as per client requirement
  • Follow best practices for change control of proposed solutions.
  • Maintain service reports.
  • Document actionable bugs for engineering resolution.
  • Skills Required: -
  • Demonstrable experience as an application support engineer in a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of front-end and back-end programming languages, such as
  • Frontend : HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery
  • Backend : Python(web development), Flask framework
  • Communication Protocols : REST API, HTTP API
  • Database : MongoDB
  • Ability to manage code migration, document configuration changes, and monitor performance.
  • Exceptional ability to provide front-end support to internal departments and web-based clients.
  • Advanced proficiency in determining the causes of application errors and repairing them.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Encryption Standards (AES).
  • Ability to keep up with innovation in application design.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
