Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Governance, Compliance & Excellence

  • Establish and enforce engineering governance—code quality, observability, SRE, and secure coding standards.
  • Implement structured change management and release processes to ensure stability and traceability.
  • Drive data-informed decisions using telemetry, analytics, and retrospectives.
  • Manage vendor ecosystems with commercial discipline—ensuring outcomes, cost control, and SLA adherence.

  • Apply FinOps principles to optimize cloud spend and platform utilization

  • Talent Development & Technology Branding

  • Build and manage the team of size: 6-8 Mahindra FTEs, 40+ Vendor Resources

  • Build, mentor, and scale cross-functional engineering teams with a focus on growth mindset, faster decision making and high accountability.

  • Product & Feature Enablement

  • Accelerate product and feature launches by building reusable digital capabilities.

  • Partner with product, design, and business teams to align tech decisions with user and commercial goals.
  • Ensure systems are ready for scale, performance, and operational resilience.

Experience

  • 15+ years of engineering leadership with a proven track record in digital transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one programming language (preferably Java).
  • Deep expertise in APIs, microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), middleware, and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Strong grasp of data engineering, CDPs, AI/ML integration, and real-time personalization.
  • Experience managing distributed teams and vendors in scaled agile environments (e.g., SAFe).

Industry Preferred

  • Experience in automotive or Customer Experience with exposure to global product rollouts and regulatory understanding (not mandatory).
  • Hands-on with AI-native platforms, event-driven architectures, and customer data platforms (CDPs).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in computer science or engineering from a top-tier institute; MBA preferred.
