About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Head of Embedded Solutions to lead our Embedded Hardware, Firmware, and Testing division end-to-end. This is not just a management role it is a hands-on leadership position where you will set the technical direction, build and mentor a high-performing team, and ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and scalable IoT solutions. You will be the architect and strategist for our embedded systems, responsible for shaping how our products evolve from concept to large-scale production readiness. This role offers the unique opportunity to build your own embedded team in Mumbai, driving innovation and execution in equal measure.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Build and lead a multi-disciplinary embedded team (hardware, firmware, testing) from the ground up.
• Define the technical roadmap for embedded systems aligned with product and business goals.
• Set best practices, processes, and coding standards for embedded development.
• Provide strong technical mentorship to senior engineers, enabling them to grow into future leaders.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and ensure our solutions remain future-proof, secure, and scalable.

Embedded Hardware Development

• Lead architecture and design of embedded hardware systems.
• Expertise in working with ESP32, EC200U, LoRa, Bluetooth, E-metering, and battery management systems.
• Oversee schematic design, PCB layout reviews, hardware bring-up, validation, and debugging.
• Ensure hardware is optimized for performance, cost, low power consumption, and large-scale manufacturability.
• Maintain relationships with component vendors and OEM/ODM partners to ensure supply chain reliability.

Embedded Firmware Development

• Architect and guide firmware design using C/C++ and RTOS-based environments.
• Build firmware that ensures secure connectivity, OTA updates, robust device management, and low-power optimization.
• Drive development of communication stacks (MQTT, TCP/IP, Modbus, CoAP, BLE, etc.) for IoT applications.
• Ensure firmware supports real-time analytics, diagnostics, and field reliability.
• Establish a strong framework for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing of firmware.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Establish a comprehensive QA/QC framework for hardware and firmware.
• Implement automated test environments, validation strategies, and field simulation testing.
• Ensure products meet certification requirements (CE, UL, BIS, RoHS, etc.) and pass rigorous reliability tests.
• Drive a design-for-testability mindset, ensuring smooth transition from prototypes to production validation.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with the Product, R&D, and Operations teams to ensure embedded solutions meet functional and business goals.
• Provide clear documentation and handoff packages to production/operations teams.
• Act as the technical voice in cross-functional meetings, ensuring embedded considerations are represented in all decisions.
• Collaborate with external partners, labs, and certification agencies as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years in embedded systems, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Technical Expertise:

• Strong track record with ESP32, EC200U, LoRa, Bluetooth, E-metering, and battery management.
• Deep expertise in embedded C/C++, RTOS, microcontrollers, and IoT protocols.
• Proven ability to design and deliver embedded systems scaled to 100,000+ units.

Leadership Skills:

• High IQ, enthusiasm, and a growth-oriented mindset.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Proven experience in building, mentoring, and scaling embedded teams.
• Strong understanding of low-power design, system optimization, and IoT security.
• Hands-on experience with debugging tools, lab equipment, and validation workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with global certification standards (CE, UL, BIS, FCC, etc.).
• Exposure to international IoT ecosystems.
• Familiarity with edge AI, machine learning on embedded devices, and advanced IoT security protocols.
• Education: B.Tech/M.Tech from Tier-1 institutes (IITs, NITs, or equivalent) preferred, but not mandatory for exceptional candidates.
