Leidos is seeking an experienced Distribution Engineering Lead in Pune, India for electric distribution design engineering. We're looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained. As a Distribution Engineering Lead, you can expect to:

• Lead a team in the development of electrical distribution work packages; Perform engineering design and analysis; potentially work on capital/ reliability design (i.e. reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc. designs)
• Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team; QAQC reviews of your team's designs prior to submittals
• Review engineering design packages for clients; Review and organize existing program work
• Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities
• Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.
• Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements; Assist with work permit development, easements, vegetation management, DOT, and ROW applications
• Manage the scope, schedule, and budget of work assigned.
• Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities
• Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes that drive efficiency and quality in client design deliverables.
• Work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables

What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):

• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial). Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Relevant experience working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing design engineering for electric distribution. 
• Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) or California GO95
• Experience with engineering design quality control
• Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc.) and distribution pole analysis
• Providing estimated costs, development of a Bill of Material (BOM)
• Engineering experience with structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, calculations of electric demand and fault currents
• Experience using CAD or AUD programs to perform Electrical Distribution design 
• Previous QAQC experience
• Proven experience and proficiency with GIS is preferred
• Prior Leadership experience is preferred
