Quantum Engineering Consultant

Horizon Technology Capital and Anametric are seeking a highly qualified part-time consultant to advise on a new secure communications product in development for use by private industry leveraging Post Quantum Encryption technology. We are seeking a consultant who can advise on such a project with experience in this area from a software perspective. A well qualified candidate will have:Quantum ExperienceTwo to four years of experience in quantum-safe cryptography; specifically algorithms for quantum key distribution and post-quantum cryptography.
Demonstrated experience in implementing one or more of proposed QKD algorithms for either research or commercialization
Demonstrated experience in implementing one or more of the proposed NIST Post Quantum Cryptography algorithms
Two to four years experience in design, development, and test quantum-safe applications. Experience in one or more areas:Demonstrated experience in mobile applications for messaging
Demonstrated experience in database applications
Demonstrated experience in streaming and interactive environments, including streaming video
Experience with design and assessment tools for quantum-safe applications
Demonstrated experience in quantum-safe simulation tools such as OptSim or OptiSystemExperience with vulnerability assessments and red-teaming quantum-safe applications
Programming ExperiencePython, C, C++ARM, RISC or Intel-based devices
Digital signal processing applications
Security applications dealing with authentication or data protections
Embedded development and testing experienceEducationBachelor in either Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Enginering/Science with five years experience ORMasters in Computer Engineering with at least two years of experience
Strong English Language communications skills
The consultant will need to be available to answer questions, provide expertise, and prepare presentations. This is a part-time consulting position and no relocation is required. Successful consultants can make between $2000 and $4000 per meeting session, depending on their level of expertise and the client's needs.
Bonuses based on superior performance. Longer term consultants will be considered for a monthly retainer based on their level of expertise. Any travel required will be paid by the client.
