Job Title: Accountant – New Zealand Accounting & Taxation

Location: Remote / India (serving NZ clients)

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are looking for an Accountant / Senior Accountant who can support our clients with day-to-day accounting and compliance work. This is a great opportunity to work from home while gaining international exposure in New Zealand and Australian accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile bank transactions and manage accounts across multiple companies.
  • Maintain the General Ledger. - Prepare annual financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders (including GST, PAYE, FBT, and Income Tax compliance).
  • Prepare and file GST returns along with monthly/quarterly management reports.
  • Support with year-end accounts and reconciliations.
  • Handle reconciliations for bank, debtors, creditors, and other accounts.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of services to clients.
  • Stay updated with New Zealand tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Respond to client queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Experience in New Zealand accounting (minimum 1 year) OR Australian accounting (minimum 2 years).
  • Basic knowledge of NZ tax rules like GST, PAYE, FBT, and Income Tax.
  • Comfortable using accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time well.
