Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Lead - OMS Legal at Suzlon Group, located in Pune. The Lead - OMS Legal will be responsible for handling legal matters related to Operations, Maintenance, and Services (OMS) for wind energy projects. This includes drafting and reviewing contracts, providing legal advice, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing legal disputes, and working collaboratively with various departments to support business operations. The role requires expertise in legal documentation, regulatory compliance, contract management, and dispute resolution.

Qualification and experience:

  1. Law degree from a leading university or a law school;
  2. A minimum of 8 years of PQE at a law firm and/or in-house legal role, with demonstrable experience in:

· Drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts;

· Managing contract lifecycle;

· Handling in house legal advisory work;

· Managing litigations and dispute resolution.

  1. Skilled in drafting notices, replies, pleadings to be filed in courts, business agreements etc.
  2. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks applicable to infrastructure / energy sector

Job Description:

Contract Management & Negotiation

  1. Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including:

  2. Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Agreements

  3. Vendor and service agreements

  4. NDAs, MoUs and term sheets

  5. Ensure contracts are aligned with business objectives, all other allied contracts, risk mitigation strategies and legal compliance.

  6. Maintain and update contract templates and playbooks in line with evolving legal and business requirements.

Legal Advisory & Risk Mitigation

  1. Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders on various operational and day to day legal and business issues.
  2. Advise on regulatory and statutory compliance relevant to contracts and operations.
  3. Staying abreast with latest legal rulings and developments

Dispute Resolution & Litigation Support

  1. Manage pre-litigation strategy and coordinate with external counsel for ongoing and anticipated disputes.
  2. Draft and review legal notices, responses and pleadings for courts.
  3. Adept at negotiations with internal and external stakeholders to avoid litigation.
