We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  Manager - Automation And Process Streamlining

Business: Financial Accounting

Principal responsibilities

  • This role will be that of an individual contributor who will be a key team member in the FAST Team for Financial Accounting and will be reporting to the FA Transformation Lead.
  • Become an advocate/champion of transformation and automation strategies to help Financial Accounting become "Future Ready FA".
  • Work collaboratively with project/program management teams, internal process and business, external vendors, delivery partners including CDO, IT/ITID and subject matter experts to support and deliver cloud related design and analysis activities.
  • Working collaboratively across global business lines to find synergies and where differences occur, to work efficiently to avoid duplication.
  • Perform business analysis activities which entails understanding existing process ecosystem and reports, translating it into cloud consumable business requirements. This includes supporting workshops, documenting requirements and building consensus across teams.
  • Support project management activities including but not limited to C&I, communications, training, establishment of project governance as prescribed by Change Methodology and needed.
  • Help process teams in identifying and evaluating automation opportunities followed by recommending and implementing an automation tool to address the needs of the business.
  • Demonstrates HSBC's design led way of thinking to automate, standardize and simplify existing or new processes.
  • Work in the 'Digital Enablement' ecosystem of the Future Skills for Finance to consult, mentor and guide fellow associates on tools like VBA, JIRA, Xceptor, Appian, ARIS, Alteryx, Python, Tableau, Fusion Insights, Casewise etc.
  • Responsible for building, implementation and governance of controls used across the Financial Accounting systems.
  • Facilitate and contribute in the agile way of working by contributing towards Scrum related ceremonies and artefacts like Daily Stand Up Meetings, Requirements Back Log, Burn Down charts etc.
  • Employs an improvement mindset and thinks ahead to identify risks and define issues or problems.
  • Brings structure and order to undefined problems.
  • Uses systemic thinking and creativity in devising solution options, evaluates relative costs, benefits and obstacles of potential solutions, understands the department's priorities.
  • Builds effective working relationships with analysis and design teams in our delivery partners and works well with external partners
  • Acts as an expert across multiple projects or programmes simultaneously, guiding and gathering requirements, design, change or implementation approaches.

Requirements : 

  • Experience in understanding and analysis of finance related data and reports to evaluate how they can be used to drive business performance and decision making.
  • A design led mind-set with a focus towards automation, standardization, simplification and agility.
  • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of new data sets across different systems.
  • Ability to identifying and driving re-engineering, process synergies and technology based solutions.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with large geographically spread team members/wider business areas and ability to develop a good rapport in challenging situations.
  • Good presentation creation and delivery skills complimented by influencing and consensus building.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge in project management activities using Change and Agile methodologies.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of cloud technology and its underlying infrastructure.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of data modelling, analysis, analytics and visualization.
  • Hands on exposure on at-least one or two automation or visualization tools used in HSBC like VBA, JIRA, Xceptor, Alteryx, Appian, Python, Tableau, Fusion Insights, Casewise etc.
  • Experience in supporting User Acceptance Testing/Business Readiness Testing scenarios.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Professional Certification in Cloud like GCP, AWS or similar
  • Professional Certification in Project Management like Prince2, PMP or similar
  • Professional Certification in Agile like CSM, CSPO or similar
  • Professional Certification is Business Analysis like CBAP or similar.
  • Knowledge on Agile tools like JIRA or similar
  • Knowledge on Data Management and modelling tools like ARIS, Collibra, Atlas or similar.
  • Knowledge in statistical modelling.
