Role & responsibilities

  • Prepares and oversees work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and make recommendations for personnel actions.

  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

  • Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department.

  • Periodically reviews department's policies and procedures, updates and amends with current information.

  • Consults with Nurse Manager concerning management of assigned units and all related matters.

  • Organizes, directs and coordinates functions and activities in assigned units to improve delivery of nursing care.

  • Identifies and reports to the Nurse Manager, areas of nursing care delivery that requires in service education to promote optimum car

  • Ensures accurate maintenance of patients medical records ,reports,statistics and thatr records are treated as confidential information.

  • Maintains awareness of ongoing Quality Assurance studies with in the unit; assist with the implementation of corrective actions .

  • Assigns personnel to patients based on acuteness of patient care needs and staff availability.

  • Directs maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patients and staff.

  • Provide comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.

  • Assists attending physicians and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 7 years of experience in clinical area and also should have administration /Supervisor level experience preferably from any Quaternary care Hospital.

Candidate must be familiar with NABH standard & forms
