Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Manager Quality Assurance to lead and manage quality functions across large-scale, ground-mounted solar power projects. This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership abilities, and strong experience in implementing and monitoring quality standards during construction, installation, and commissioning phases. The candidate will serve as the key quality authority at site and ensure adherence to company standards, statutory guidelines, and international codes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the overall Field Quality Assurance function across multiple project sites from Head Office.
  • Define, develop, and implement project-specific Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) and Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
  • Drive a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement at site.

2. Construction & Installation Quality

  • Ensure quality monitoring for all civil, electrical works including:

  • Module Mounting Structures (MMS)

  • Pile foundations / RCC foundations
  • Module installation
  • Inverter stations, transformers, switchyards

  • DC/AC cabling, trenching, earthing, and transmission lines

  • Conduct periodic site audits and inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship.

3. Vendor & Material Quality

  • Oversee quality checks for all incoming materials such as modules, MMS, cables, inverters, and other BOS items.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with technical specifications and certifications (BIS, IEC, OEM standards).
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain & SQA teams for vendor performance monitoring.

4. Quality Systems & Documentation

  • Ensure timely preparation and closure of NCRs, Observations, CAPA, Deviation Requests, and Quality Reports.
  • Maintain full documentation of QA activities as per audit requirements.
  • Review as-built documentation, quality records, and final handover dossiers.

5. Contractor & Sub-Contractor Quality Management

  • Evaluate and monitor contractor quality performance.
  • Conduct quality training, toolbox sessions, and technical guidance for contractor teams.
  • Enforce strict compliance to project specifications and quality processes.

6. Interface & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, HSE, and Commissioning teams.
  • Provide timely, accurate quality updates and dashboards to senior leadership.
  • Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and certification bodies, if required.

7. Commissioning & Handover Quality

  • Ensure pre-commissioning and commissioning quality checks are completed.
  • Validate test reports, third-party inspection reports, and OEM test certificates.
  • Support smooth handover of the plant with complete quality compliance.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of utility-scale ground mount solar projects.
  • Excellent understanding of QAP, ITP, WMS, NCR, CAPA, and ISO quality systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple contractors and large workforce teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience working with top EPC companies or large renewable energy developers.
  • Prior leadership experience handling field QA teams.
  • Exposure to multi-megawatt solar projects (50 MW and above preferred).
