We're Hiring: Lead Firmware Test Engineer

Location: Pune - (In Office)

Experience: 6+ Years | Domain: Embedded Systems, Automotive

This isn't just about writing test cases. It's about owning quality from the ground up — across firmware layers that power real-world systems.

We're looking for someone who's hands-on with
embedded testing
, comfortable across
HAL, MCAL, Middleware, Bootloader
, and loves building
test automation frameworks
from scratch.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and maintain test frameworks to validate firmware at all levels (MCAL, HAL, Middleware, Application).
  • Define and drive the
    automation testing strategy
    across unit, integration, and performance layers.
  • Work on
    communication protocol validation
    — CAN, SPI, UART, I2C.
  • Build tools and utilities to improve test coverage, team velocity, and release quality.
  • Integrate testing into
    CI/CD pipelines
    using Jenkins or equivalent.
  • Handle testing of
    RTOS, Security, UDS, Safety Functions, Memory, State Flow
    , etc.
  • Participate in code/design reviews; propose ways to reduce tech debt.
  • Ensure testing adheres to
    compliance, security
    , and
    safety
    guidelines from day one.
  • Collaborate with devs, QA, and PMs in an Agile setup (Scrum, SAFe, etc.).
  • Document testing practices, create re-usable templates/playbooks.


Skills & Experience We Value

  • 6+ years
    of embedded software or firmware testing experience.
  • Strong in
    Embedded C
    , automation tools, and
    ARM-based microcontrollers
    .
  • Experience with
    RTOS, bootloaders
    , and
    safety-critical systems
    (AUTOSAR a plus).
  • Familiar with
    MISRA C
    and working in highly regulated environments.
  • Solid understanding of
    CI/CD
    , especially Jenkins.
  • Strong analytical thinking and clear communication — both verbal and written.
  • Comfortable in Agile teams, across multiple time zones.

Bonus If You Have:

  • Experience with model-based testing or simulation tools.
  • ISTQB or other test-related certifications.
  • Background in
    Automotive Firmware
    , E-mobility, or ISO 26262 environments.
  • A mindset of
