Job Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in day-to-day accounting activities, and conducting/assisting in stock audits and inventory reconciliations. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and practical exposure to audit processes and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Record day-to-day accounting transactions (sales, purchases, payments, receipts, journal entries, etc.) in accounting software.
  • Maintain ledgers, reconcile bank accounts, and ensure proper documentation of all vouchers and invoices.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes and preparation of financial reports.
  • Handle accounts payable/receivable and vendor/customer reconciliations.

Stock Audit & Inventory Management

  • Conduct or assist in physical verification of stock at warehouses, stores, and client sites.
  • Reconcile physical stock with books and highlight shortages/excesses.
  • Verify valuation, movement, and documentation of stock as per company policy.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed stock audit reports and follow up on discrepancies.

Audit Support & Compliance

  • Support statutory and internal auditors with schedules, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Review internal control systems and identify gaps during audit work.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
  • Assist in preparation of audit documentation and management reports.

MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare regular MIS reports on financial position, stock movements, and audit findings.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Practical exposure to stock audits and inventory verification.
  • Working knowledge of Tally / ERP / Excel (advanced preferred).
  • Understanding of GST, TDS, and other tax compliance.
  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Education: B. Com / M. Com.
  • Experience: 25 years in accounting and/or stock audit profile.
  • Preferred: Experience with trading/manufacturing businesses and audit firms.
