Cost Accountant

Role & responsibilities :

• Cost Analysis & Reporting
  
  Maintain and analyze standard costs of products and production activities.
  
  Prepare cost reports to support management in pricing and profitability analysis.
  
  Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting close processes.
• Variance Analysis
  
  Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, and overhead) and investigate significant deviations.
  
  Provide detailed reports on cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Inventory Management
  
  Monitor inventory transactions and perform monthly reconciliations.
  
  Ensure accurate inventory valuation and costing of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  
  Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Budgeting and Forecasting
  
  Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, especially in cost projections and cost allocation.
  
  Monitor budget adherence and identify areas of cost improvement.
• Internal Controls & Compliance
  
  Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
  
  Support internal and external audits related to inventory and cost accounting.
• Cross-Functional Support
  
  Collaborate with production, engineering, procurement, and supply chain departments to provide cost-related insights.
  
  Support new product costing, capital expenditure analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

Skills to have:

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation methods, and standard costing systems.
• Proficient in ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Power BI or similar tools is a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team
