Position: GIS Project Manager

Location: Hyderabad (with frequent nationwide travel)

Experience Required: 7–10 years in GIS and Survey-based project management

Role Overview:

As a GIS Project Manager, you will be accountable for end-to-end management of complex survey and GIS projects, including staffing, operations, client liaison, and data integrity. You will be a single point of contact (SPOC) for assigned projects, responsible for ensuring all deliverables meet GeoVista's quality and process standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Lead and oversee the execution of GIS and survey projects, ensuring completion within defined timelines and budget.
• Plan, allocate, and manage project resources, including team members and equipment.
• Hire and onboard required staff or vendor agencies for project fulfillment, supported by HQ teams (HR, Projects).
• Regularly monitor progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective measures as needed.

Client Coordination:

• Act as the primary liaison with project clients for inputs, approvals, data requirements, and payment follow-ups.
• Ensure effective communication and relationship management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support estimations and costing as a subject matter expert for bid preparation teams.

Field Operations & Data Management:

• Ensure proper execution of surveys using ETS, GPS, LiDAR, drones, and video-supported techniques.
• Guarantee security, integrity, and timely handover of all field-captured data for in-house processing; safeguard company IP.
• Drive operational excellence with strong adherence to company SoPs and process documentation.

Team Leadership & Training:

• Mentor and train junior team members and field staff on best practices in data capture, equipment use, data handling, and documentation.
• Conduct workshops and refresher sessions on proprietary software/apps as required.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and skills development.

Compliance & Process Adoption:

• Operate strictly within company protocols covering project stages, asset handling, and documentation compliance.
• Advocate and drive adoption of internal process tools/apps for progress tracking and reporting.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience managing complex, multi-location GIS and survey projects (7–10 years).
• Hands-on expertise in survey instruments (ETS, GPS/GNSS, LiDAR, drones) and related data handling and analytics.
• Demonstrated ability to independently hire, organize, and lead multi-disciplinary field teams.
• Strong command over data integrity, field-to-office processes, and secure data transfer.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Hindi; proficiency in additional regional languages is an advantage.
• Ability and readiness to travel extensively, including rural/urban field sites and client offices across India.
• High proficiency in project planning, resource management, and adherence to schedule/milestones.
• Experience in mentoring and conducting training/workshops on technical/process topics.
• Familiarity with client-facing documentation and commercial process inputs for estimation and costing.
• Strong process orientation, discipline in SOP compliance, and documentation management.
