Job Summary

A transport coordinator plans, coordinates, and manages the daily transportation of goods, products, or people to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Key responsibilities include optimizing routes, scheduling drivers and vehicles, ensuring regulatory compliance, and serving as the main point of contact for suppliers, customers, and carriers. They also track shipments, resolve delays, and maintain detailed records and reports.

Responsibilities and Duties

Planning and scheduling: Plan and manage daily transportation operations, including scheduling deliveries and dispatches.

Shipment tracking: Monitor and track shipments to ensure they are on time and to handle any issues that arise.

Communication and coordination: Liaise with internal departments, external transport providers and customers to provide status updates and resolve problems.

Record keeping and reporting: Maintain accurate records of transportation activities and prepare reports for management.

Requirements :

Administration: Handle pre-shipment and post-shipment administration, including tracking proof of delivery.

Computer literacy: Proficiency in relevant software, such as transportation management systems.

Industry knowledge: Experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field is often required.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
