Director- Enterprise Data Technology

Provides functional leadership to global devops teams that manage data at rest platforms such as SQL Server, Amazon RDS, Oracle, and UDB. Partners closely with a peer in the US that leads data in motion platform teams (e.g. ETL, data integration) to offer complete data solutions to the enterprise. Provides people leadership to India-based resources on both platform teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive consistency and excellence across the global enterprise data and analytics product portfolio in both India and the US. Guide teams in building an environment focused on four key goals: 1) product engineering, 2) operational transparency, 3) improving ITSM efficiency, and 4) minimizing downtime through proactive risk mitigation. Assess changes in the technology landscape, develop product roadmaps, and manage execution to deliver on the roadmap.
• Work closely with application development (CDO), business partners, infrastructure teams, and vendor partners in delivering the highest quality products and operational service. Assist customers with onboarding to, and effective use of, the platforms.
• Handle platform operations (incident, changes, problems), and represent platform health and status on operations and ready-for-business calls Communicate issue context and status clearly, demonstrating strong technical understanding. Promote confidence in the team's ability to proactively maintain stable and reliable products.
• People management, including goal setting, performance evaluation, career development and coaching.

Key Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to recognize business impacts and respond or escalate, as appropriate
• Ability to take initiative and remain team player, act proactively, and think creatively
• Ability to work and guide the team on using established procedures
• Communications skills with flexibility to speak at various levels of technical depth depending on the audience
• 3-5 years of experience with developing and operating database platforms including MSSQL, Oracle, or DB2/UDB
• 3-5 years of experience in managing troubleshooting complex issues across all infrastructure teams, leading, setting direction, managing, mitigating, and resolving incidents and problems
• 3-5 years of experience in operating under ITSM framework - Change, Incident, Problem, Event management (ServiceNow or other)
• 3-5 years  of experience of running DevOps teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft productivity tools, including PowerBI.
• IT Automation - Understand the operating principles and have the ability to guide the team.
• Familiarity with HA patterns, disaster recovery and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with ETL (Informatica tools), Data movement (MQ, ACE, Sterling MFT, Data Power etc.).
• Cloud Engineering - AWS Foundations, SRE (Service Reliability Engineering) principles and use.
