Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial records.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Prepare various financial reports and analyses as required by the management.
- Contribute to the budget preparation process and monitor budget performance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control policies.
- Identify and implement improvements to internal controls and accounting processes.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Work closely with other members of the finance team and other departments.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to team goals.
- Understand industry-specific accounting practices related to logistics operations (e.g., freight accounting, inventory management).
- Analyze and track key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the logistics business.
- Handle accounting related to various logistic processes such as transportation, warehousing, etc.
- Performing other duties that are assigned by the management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of GST and other relevant tax regulations.
