Job Title: Computer Operator

Job Summary:

The Computer Operator will monitor and control computer systems to ensure the efficient and smooth processing of data and ensure system performance. The most suitable candidate will possess keen attention to detail, technical skills, and the capacity to immediately react to system warnings or hardware failures.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor computer systems and networks to maintain maximum performance and uptime.

Run mainframes, servers, and peripheral devices as per specified procedures.

Carry out routine system checks, backups, and batch processing operations.

Identify and act on system warnings, errors, and failures; refer exceptions to higher authorities when needed.

Keep records of system functions, issues, and resolutions.

Help in software installation, updates, and configuration modifications.

Coordinate with IT support teams for diagnostics and maintenance.

Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with internal policies.

Service equipment and report any hardware/software problems in a timely manner.

Offer basic technical assistance to users, if necessary.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.

Successful experience as a computer operator or equivalent role.

Experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX) and command-line utilities.

Understanding of data backup, recovery methods, and system monitoring software.

Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work alone and adhere to established guidelines.

Willingness to work shifts, including night and weekends if necessary.

Desirable Skills:

Basic networking familiarity.

Experience with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, database management).

Knowledge of Typing And All MS Office Functions.

CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or equivalent certification (a plus).

Work Environment:

Office or data center setting.

May require shift work, weekends, or holidays.

Long periods of sitting and computer use.

Job Type: Fresher
