About The Role
The role is to lead and execute the marketing and communication (mainline and digital/online) strategic plans in alignment with the brand strategy for the region, for the Academic Unit to ensure effective sales and growth.

We are looking for an experienced, highly skilled, customer-focused person who ideally has previously worked in publishing or education industry or who has a passion towards it. As a marketeer at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, you will be working to deliver impactful ROI driven marketing campaigns. You will be working closely with both customers and colleagues, including those based overseas.

Principle Accountabilities would be as follows:
Marketing Strategy and Planning

  • Support in devising a comprehensive ROI-driven customer-centric Marketing Strategy for South Asia to support both Print and Digital Sales / Trade & Channel Partners and Institutional Customers / End-Users
  • Support in Chalking out strategies for enhancing Cambridge - Academic's Brand Presence and Visibility in Local Markets
  • Support Sales teams in Achieving respective budget targets – Print Books, e-Books and Journals
  • Ensure timely and adequate production of marketing literature/collateral – catalogs/flyers/giveaways
  • Participate in Relevant Events & Conferences, Book Fairs and Exhibitions for Brand Promotions; Partnering with key institutions; Organize Book Launches
  • Follow and Comply with GDPR Guidelines - in Collection, Storage and Usage of Data

Customer Engagement

  • Engage our existing & prospective institutional customers and ensure fostering long lasting relationship. Organize end-user awareness workshops at institutions for driving the usage of journals ensuring smooth renewals.
  • Lead and organize Customer Engagement workshops for End-Users at key institutional customers for driving the usage of our online books and journals portfolio.
  • Find effective and novel ways to engage with our authors and leverage the association to enhance Academic's brand presence and visibility.

Author Engagements

  • Lead engagements with Authors on their book promotions.
  • Brief authors on their promotion plan and ensure that all the promotions (both online & offline) are done & delivered in time.

Usage Enhancement

  • Work with internal sales and product teams to track and grow usage across key accounts.
  • Deploy campaigns aimed at increasing discoverability and usage of digital platforms (journals and eBooks).
  • Create content (videos, infographics, guides) to promote access and usability.

Submissions Support

  • Coordinate communication for journal submission drives – emailers, campaigns, and faculty visits.
  • Assist in educating faculty and researchers on the submission process, benefits, and platform features.

Digital & Social Media Marketing and e-Commerce Promotions

  • Support in devising a comprehensive Digital and Social Media Marketing roadmap for Academic Business
  • Continue to Build and Develop an Engaged Community of Target Audience - Researchers, Faculty Members, Librarians and Authors
  • Content Marketing – Create rich, meaningful, engaging and interactive content from our customers – authors / librarians
  • Community Development – Expand the social media community on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter; online researcher and librarian community, further enhance engagement,
  • Drive E-mail Marketing covering Cambridge's entire Product Portfolio – Print and Digital

Additional Duties

  • Liaise with Finance for Timely POs & Invoicing.
  • To carry out any other duties which may be reasonably expected of you by your immediate manager or a senior director.

Other Requirements

  • 5-7 years of Marketing experience in a reputed organization.
  • MBA With Additional Digital Marketing Qualifications.
  • Prior experience of Marketing in Education & Publishing companies will be a huge plus.
