Position: Medical Laboratory Technician - Sample Collection (DMLT)
Location: Hadapsar, Pune, Maharashtra, India — On-site
- Perform safe and accurate specimen collection (venipuncture and capillary sampling) following standard operating procedures and patient identification protocols.
- Receive, label, log and track specimens into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to ensure chain-of-custody and result integrity.
- Prepare, centrifuge, aliquot and store specimens; maintain cold chain and packaging for intra- and inter-facility transport.
- Maintain collection area hygiene, manage biohazard waste disposal, and comply with biosafety and infection-control protocols.
- Operate point-of-care testing devices and perform basic quality checks; escalate non-conforming or critical findings to supervisors.
- Manage inventory of collection kits and consumables, coordinate appointment schedules and support outreach/mobile collection when required.
Must-Have
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Formal phlebotomy/venipuncture training with demonstrable hands-on experience in clinical sample collection.
- Working knowledge of Laboratory Information System (LIS) or sample-tracking software.
- Strong understanding of biosafety, universal precautions and specimen transport regulations (cold chain management).
- Ability to follow SOPs, perform basic QC checks and accurately document pre-analytical data.
- On-site availability for Hadapsar, Pune; reliable attendance and patient-facing professionalism.
- Experience in diagnostic laboratory or hospital phlebotomy operations.
- Exposure to mobile/home sample collection workflows and electronic appointment systems.
- Training in point-of-care testing (rapid tests, glucometer) and sample preparation techniques.
