Responsible for leading the security team and managing the overall security operations for HACLA (Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles)

Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the protection and confidentiality of HACLA's information assets.

Lead incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.

Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend risk mitigation measures.

Manage the implementation and maintenance of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, and access control systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security controls for new systems and applications.

Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security
  • Experience in leading and managing a security team
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, encryption algorithms, and authentication mechanisms
  • Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus software
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to information security (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Certifications such as CISSP or CISM are strongly preferred
