Production Chemist

· Production oversight: Supervise daily manufacturing and packing operations to ensure schedules and monthly targets are met. Tasks involve monitoring activities like granulation, compression, coating, and filling.
· Regulatory compliance: Enforce cGMP, safety, and quality standards on the shop floor. Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) departments to maintain audit-readiness for inspections by regulatory bodies like the USFDA and WHO.
· Process management: Work with a variety of pharmaceutical formulations, such as oral liquids, solids (tablets, capsules), and topicals. Ensure all production activities follow approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Documentation and reporting: Manage and maintain accurate and complete production records, batch records, and other manufacturing-related documents. Ensure good documentation practices (GDP) are followed.
· Deviation handling: Investigate and address deviations, discrepancies, or complaints related to the production process.
· Inventory control: Assist with production planning and inventory management. This includes ensuring optimal stock levels of raw materials and preventing mix-ups of packaging materials and labels.
· Equipment operation and maintenance: Oversee the operation, setup, cleaning, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
· Training and supervision: Train production staff on procedures, safety policies, and regulatory guidelines. Some roles may involve people management.
· Continuous improvement: Participate in initiatives to enhance production processes and efficiency, while also monitoring and controlling critical parameters like temperature and pressure.
· Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate with other departments, including QA, QC, Engineering, and Supply Chain Management, to ensure smooth and compliant production.
