We are currently seeking a Database Administrator to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Job Duties: We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support the migration of our databases from SAP BODS source systems to AWS PostgreSQL. The DBA will be responsible for database setup, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and ensuring high availability in the AWS cloud environment. Familiarity with Unix/Linux is essential due to integration requirements.
Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and manage the migration of databases to AWS PostgreSQL.

• Install, configure, and maintain AWS RDS PostgreSQL instances or Aurora PostgreSQL clusters.

• Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing.

• Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.

• Set up database security, roles, and access permissions.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Cloud Engineers to ensure smooth migration and integration.

• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.

• Develop and maintain documentation on database architecture and procedures.

• Manage database upgrades and patching in coordination with cloud operations.

• Support Unix/Linux based environments related to database hosting and automation scripts.

Minimum Skills Required:
• Strong experience as a DBA managing PostgreSQL databases, preferably on AWS RDS or Aurora.

• Solid knowledge of database migration strategies and best practices.

• Hands-on experience with performance tuning and query optimization in PostgreSQL.

• Experience with backup/restore, replication, and disaster recovery.

• Proficient with Unix/Linux shell scripting and server management.

• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure components relevant to databases (VPC, Security Groups, IAM).

• Good understanding of database security and compliance requirements.

• Experience with monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, pgAdmin, or other DB monitoring tools.

• Previous exposure to SAP BODS or similar ETL tools is a plus.
