Retenzy is a modern Shopify loyalty and retention platform helping D2C brands increase customer lifetime value with rewards, referrals, reviews, and subscriptions. We are expanding our growth team and looking for someone who can build strong search visibility for our brand.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced 
SEO + AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) Specialist
 who can own and execute Retenzy's search strategy across Google, Bing, and AI-based answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and others.

This person will work closely with the founder to improve organic visibility, ranking, app discovery, and content footprint.

Key Responsibilities
1. SEO Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement an end-to-end SEO strategy for the Retenzy website and Shopify app listing.
  • Conduct keyword research focused on Shopify merchants, D2C brands, and eCommerce loyalty use cases.
  • Optimize website content, landing pages, and blogs for high-intent search terms.
  • Improve technical SEO—site speed, schema markup, URL structure, crawlability, indexing.
  • Build and manage backlinks through ethical and high-quality outreach.
  • Conduct competitor analysis , Stamped, Okendo, Nector, Flits, Yotpo, etc.).
  • Track and improve rankings, impressions, conversions using tools like GSC, GA4, SEMRush/Ahrefs.

2. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)

  • Create strategies for visibility on AI search channels like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Bing AI.
  • Build structured content that aligns with AI answer formats (Q&A, comparison tables, definitions).
  • Optimize brand mentions, citations, and dataset visibility in AI-generated answers.
  • Identify new content opportunities based on AI search behaviour and merchant queries.

3. Content Collaboration

  • Work with the founder/content team to plan blog posts, comparison articles, guides, and technical content.
  • Review and optimize all content for SEO, AEO, and merchant-focused storytelling.
  • Create content briefs for writers when required.

4. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Own monthly SEO/AEO performance reporting.
  • Track keyword movement, traffic, leads, and Shopify app attribution.
  • Provide insights and next-step strategies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–4 years of hands-on SEO experience (preferably SaaS, Shopify apps, or eCommerce tech).
  • Understanding of AEO (ChatGPT/Perplexity optimization) or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Strong keyword research & on-page optimization skills.
  • Good understanding of technical SEO (schema, redirects, Core Web Vitals).
  • Experience with AI tools for content and search optimization.
  • Familiarity with Shopify SEO is a strong plus.
  • Excellent written communication skills.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in SaaS or eCommerce industry.
  • Ability to create basic content outlines or write SEO-focused content.
  • Understanding of CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization).
  • Familiarity with Shopify app store ranking factors.
