Job Description:

The NPI & Process Manager in PCBA Assembly is a pivotal role that combines process management, engineering, and leadership to successfully bring new electronic products from concept to high-volume production. This manager ensures that the assembly processes are optimized, scalable, and capable of producing high-quality products. They work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the product meets design specifications, quality standards, and is manufacturability at scale while keeping costs under control.

  • Yield and Scrap Rates: Track the yield of each production batch and work to minimize scrap and rework.
  • Cycle Time: Monitor and reduce the cycle time for PCB assembly.
  • On-Time Delivery: Ensure that products are delivered on schedule to customers or to the next production phase.
  • Cost per Unit: Track manufacturing costs per unit and work toward reducing costs through process optimization.
  • First Pass Yield (FPY): The percentage of boards that pass inspection without rework.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Measure customer satisfaction through feedback regarding product quality, on-time delivery, and responsiveness to issues.
  • Process Capability (CpK): Monitor the capability of key processes to consistently produce within specified limits.

Management and Soft Skills:

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, including planning, resource allocation, and tracking milestones. Experience with tools like Microsoft Project, Jira, or Asana.
  • Leadership: Ability to manage and mentor teams, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for addressing process-related issues and production challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with design, engineering, quality, and production teams, as well as customers and suppliers.
  • Customer Orientation: Understanding of customer requirements and the ability to align production and process to meet those needs.
