Role Description

Assistant Vice President (AVP) / Senior Assistant Vice President (SAVP) - Life & Annuities (L&A) – Insurance Analytics & SGU Vertical

Reports To: Vice President, Insurance Analytics & SGU Vertical

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Vice President (AVP) / Senior Assistant Vice President (SAVP) for our Life & Annuities (L&A) Insurance Analytics team within the SGU Vertical. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth knowledge of data analytics, stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead a team of analytics professionals. This role is a senior leadership position and the selected candidate will play a key role in driving the strategy, growth and execution of analytics initiatives in the Life & Annuities domain, while collaborating with cross-functional teams, clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management:


• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 20-25 data analysts and data scientists focused on Life & Annuities (L&A) within the insurance sector.


• Provide strategic direction for the team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.


• Oversee resource allocation, project prioritization, and team performance to meet business objectives.


• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.

  1. Client and Stakeholder Management:


• Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and clients.


• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business partners, clients, and external vendors.


• Lead client meetings to understand business needs, translate them into actionable analytics solutions, and present findings in a clear and impactful manner.


• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality insights, reports, and recommendations that drive business decisions.

  1. Strategic Analytics Leadership:


• Drive the data analytics strategy for the Life & Annuities sector, ensuring alignment with business goals.


• Provide thought leadership and in-depth knowledge of industry trends, data analytics tools, and methodologies relevant to Life & Annuities.


• Oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytical models and solutions to address business challenges and opportunities in the Life & Annuities space.


• Collaborate with other departments and leadership teams to define and implement analytics strategies that support business growth.

  1. Data Analytics Oversight:


• Utilize advanced data analytics techniques to drive actionable insights that influence business strategy and decision-making.


• Develop and implement frameworks for analyzing large volumes of data, focusing on customer segmentation, risk modeling, claims analysis, and other key metrics.


• Monitor and improve data analytics processes and performance to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

  1. Project Management:


• Oversee the successful execution of multiple analytics projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with client objectives.


• Manage budgets, resources, and timelines, ensuring effective project execution.


• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights, strategies, and solutions on schedule.

  1. Stakeholder Communication:


• Develop and present reports and presentations for executive leadership, clients, and key stakeholders.


• Communicate complex data insights in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:


• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.


• Experience:


• 12 + years of experience in a data analytics or insurance analytics role, with at least 5 years of leadership experience in Life & Annuities or related domains.


• Proven expertise in managing large teams and delivering high-quality analytics solutions to business clients.


• In-depth knowledge of data analytics methodologies, tools and technologies, including predictive modeling, statistical analysis and data visualization.


• Strong experience in client and stakeholder management, with an ability to influence and collaborate at senior levels.


• Knowledge of the Life & Annuities insurance domain, including product offerings, risk management, claims analysis and customer insights.


• Skills:


• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex data in a business context.


• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.


• Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.


• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.


• Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and opportunities.
