Position

L4 Network Security Expert

Scope

Work with customer technology teams to guide them on the usage of services and their functionality.

Provide subject matter expertise for network security components like firewalls, IPS, load balancers and WAF and how to utilize them in optimum way for service commissioning and stabilization.

Thoroughly understand the customer application requirements from a network and security perspective and coordinate with cloud operations and provisioning teams for quick support and faster service delivery.

Ensuring the Service Level Agreement (SLA) or OLA (Operational Level Agreement) of highest standards and Turn-Around Time (TAT) as agreed with customer are delivered by respective support functions.

Identify the repetitive tasks performed by the support teams which takes long times and results in customer dissatisfaction and register the improvement requirements with the central engineering team and provide domain expertise on network and security technologies.

Technical Skills

  • Detailed understanding and hands-on expertise on configuring & troubleshooting:
  • Firewalls (Palo Alto / Cisco FTD / Checkpoint / Fortinet)
  • Load balancers (F5 / Radware / Citrix / A10 / Array)
  • Routing and Switching (Cisco Nexus, ACI, Arista, Juniper)
  • Experience on designing Network & Security solutions for multi-tenant cloud infrastructure working on OpenStack, OpenShift, Nutanix, VMWare to deploy the NGFW, SSL Offload, WAF, IPS, DDoS technologies.
  • Advanced Level of configurations for high availability like Active-Passive or Active-Active Cluster setup for software/hardware form factor appliances.
  • Routing protocol eBGP, ISIS, OSPF expertise to design native and hybrid deployments across on-premises multi-tenant clouds.
  • Detailed understanding of Firewall technologies to define golden rules, strict rules with threat prevention capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of load balancer technologies and its usage in cloud form factors as well as integrations with K8S.
  • Expert level knowledge of IP addressing schemes (IPv4 & IPv6)
  • Knowledge of log co-relation engines/ methodology would be an advantage
  • Should have worked in Remote Management environment using tools.
  • Basic scripting skills would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • The key responsibilities are highlighted below. The candidate is expected to work with CxO level leaders and technology leaders of the customers to understand the requirements, design solutions to cater network and security aspects on the multi-tenant private cloud.
  • Work closely with business/application support teams to understand and design required deployment architecture and work with cross-functional teams for on-ground deployment of the solution.
  • Once customer applications are on-boarded on the cloud platform, work with their technology team to understand the observability requirements and get them fulfilled through cloud management platform on multi-tenant private cloud.
  • Expected to provide advance level of support to be provided for ensuring that the SLA/ OLA/ TAT parameters are met.
  • Identify the areas of improvement and possible triggers for automation for network security technologies.
  • Regularly meet the customer focal to understand their expectations and pain areas and work within organization cross function teams to drive the programs to address customer requirements.
  • Convert the perception of customers to win WOW factors, walk extra mile to ensure that customers are getting what they are paying for and identify innovative ways to enrich the customer cloud journey.
  • Set a periodic cadence call with customer focal to appraise them about the services used by them on cloud and their performance levels and identify the areas of improvement.
  • Participate in service level assessment reviews and provide support to technology team to win customer confidence.
  • Develop and maintain customer specific network topology and reference documentation.
  • Help technology teams to troubleshoot complex network issues across multiple layers (L1-L7), providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex issues that require deep technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Exposure to F5/Citrix NetScaler load balancers.
  • Exposure to Cisco/Palo Alto/Checkpoint firewalls.
  • Exposure on Network Router and Switches, Nexus and ACI, etc.
  • Should have technical OEM certifications for Network & Security products or technologies (Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, WAN Accelerators, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN Gateways, etc.)
  • Knowledge or experience of using Enterprise Service Management tools for automated testing, Monitoring (for OS, Network, Applications, etc.), Event correlation engines etc.
  • Experience in a multi-vendor environment would be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, strong conceptual and analytical skills along-with ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
