Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and responsible UAV Pilot to operate, test, and support flight operations of our fixed-wing and VTOL UAV systems. The candidate will work closely with the aerospace, avionics, and systems teams to ensure safe and efficient mission execution, as well as contribute to UAV testing, maintenance, and flight data collection.

This is a field and lab-based technical role requiring hands-on experience with UAV flight operations, mission planning, troubleshooting, and familiarity with UAV ground control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-flight checks, mission planning, and flight operations for UAVs (fixed-wing and VTOL).
  • Operate UAVs during test flights, demonstrations, and field evaluations.
  • Coordinate with design and avionics teams to validate flight performance and system reliability.
  • Maintain flight logs, safety checklists, and mission documentation.
  • Perform basic maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of UAV systems.
  • Ensure compliance with DGCA and internal operational safety guidelines.
  • Support integration and testing of new payloads or systems on UAV platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Masters degree in a relevant discipline .
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in UAV flight operations or testing.
  • Proven experience operating fixed-wing or VTOL UAVs (manual and autonomous).
  • Familiarity with ground control software (e.g., Mission Planner, QGroundControl).
  • Strong understanding of UAV systems propulsion, communication, and flight control.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and travel for flight testing.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of UAV assembly, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Experience with autopilot systems (PX4, ArduPilot, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety, precision, and operational discipline.
