Job Description

The Team Lead – Buffets is responsible for overseeing buffet operations, managing staff, ensuring proper food arrangement, handling guest complaints, and maintaining smooth service flow. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage busy crowd situations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Staff Supervision

  • Monitor the performance and attendance of all buffet staff.
  • Assign duties and ensure team members follow service standards.
  • Conduct briefings before shifts to share instructions, updates, and daily goals.
  • Train and guide new staff on buffet procedures and customer service.

2. Buffet Arrangement & Operations

  • Ensure proper setup of buffet counters, food arrangement, signage, and cleanliness.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team for timely food replenishment.
  • Check food display, hygiene standards, and overall presentation.
  • Ensure smooth crowd flow during peak times.

3. Guest Handling & Issue Resolution

  • Attend to guest inquiries, complaints, and service issues promptly.
  • Maintain a professional and polite approach in resolving conflicts.
  • Handle high-pressure situations with confidence and efficiency.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Share ideas for improvement in buffet layout, service quality, and customer experience.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, housekeeping, and service departments.
  • Prepare daily reports on team performance, issues, and updates to management.

5. Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards are followed.
  • Monitor staff's adherence to grooming and service rules.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buffet counters and dining areas.
