Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Managed Services Platform Product Owner located in Bengaluru. The Product Owner will be responsible for managing the product lifecycle, defining product vision, and working closely with engineering and business teams to deliver value. They will lead business analysis activities, identify market needs, and convert them into detailed functional requirements. Key tasks also include collaborating with stakeholders, prioritizing product features, and ensuring that the product meets customer and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Vision, Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and evolve the short-term and long-term vision for the Managed Services Platform.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap based on market trends, customer needs, and internal capabilities.
  • Conduct market research and competitive benchmarking to inform platform direction.

2. Platform Design & Architecture

  • Own the functional and technical design of the platform, including service models, integrations, and user experience.
  • Apply design thinking principles to define user personas and craft service journeys.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, SIAM).

3. Development & Build Oversight

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to translate product requirements into scalable platform features.
  • Manage product backlog, EPICs, user stories, wireframes, and process flows.
  • Oversee platform build phases, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

4. Transition & Operationalization

  • Lead platform transition from build to steady-state operations, including hyper care and support enablement.
  • Define and manage success criteria, testing protocols, and operational KPIs.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding of internal and external stakeholders.

5. Sales & Enablement Support

  • Develop sales enablement materials including capability decks, training documentation, and demo environments.
  • Support sales and pre-sales teams during RFI, RFP, and solution defense stages.
  • Represent the platform in client workshops and strategic discussions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Functional & Technical Skills

  • Proven experience in product ownership and platform architecture within managed services or ITSM domains.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL, SIAM, and service management frameworks.
  • Experience in designing and operating enterprise-grade platforms.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Skilled in wireframing, prototyping, and product documentation.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (mandatory).
  • Master's degree (MBA preferred) is an advantage.

Experience

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 5+ years in product ownership, platform design, or architecture roles.
  • Experience in managed services, ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy), and operational delivery is preferred.

Certifications

  • Certified Product Owner (e.g., CSPO) – preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation (mandatory); Intermediate/Expert preferred.
