Amazon Business is looking for aPrincipal Solutions Architect to lead our strategic advancement in the field of B2B digital commerce and e-procurement. This pivotal role demands a unique blend of deep technical expertise, high-level strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills. The successful candidate will drive innovative solutions at scale, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies and integration protocols to redefine e-commerce for enterprise-level clients.

As a Principal Solutions Architect at Amazon Business, you will play a pivotal role in driving advanced technical integrations for our key customers and partners, while also fostering collaboration across the broader Amazon ecosystem. Your responsibilities involve leading integrations from technical discovery and scoping to implementation and post-production support. This role requires close coordination with internal teams, including Business Development, Professional Services, Sales, Product, and Engineering, to strategically manage new product integrations and launches.

In addition to developing and executing operational process improvements and managing ongoing integrations, your role will extend to engaging with various Amazonian teams and initiatives. This pan-Amazonian involvement will be crucial in harnessing insights, expertise, and innovations from across the company to deliver comprehensive solutions that address the complex business challenges of Amazon Business's largest customers and partners.

As an influential leader and skilled negotiator, you will balance technical and functional requirements, designing and implementing sophisticated technical integration solutions. Your vision and leadership will not only set the standard for excellence in Amazon Business's service offerings but also contribute to the broader strategic objectives of Amazon as a whole, ensuring alignment and synergy across different divisions and initiatives.

Key job responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy for Amazon Business's customer ecosystem, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and scalability across a global network.

• Design and implement enterprise-grade procurement integrations for platforms such as Coupa, Ariba, SAP, Oracle, and others, ensuring technical excellence and reliability.

• Lead the evolution of Amazon Business's API platform, defining capabilities that enable advanced customer use cases and improve developer experiences.

• Provide architectural leadership for large-scale, customer-driven enterprise procurement transformations, guiding design, implementation, and technical governance.

• Collaborate with global system integrators and ISVs to validate complex customer architectures and deliver robust technical solutions.

• Act as a technical escalation point for resolving architectural challenges, ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of customer integrations.

• Shape the strategy for the Amazon Business App Center, driving innovation in the marketplace ecosystem and enabling custom-built applications.

• Establish and enforce technical governance frameworks to standardize and optimize customer integration solutions.

• Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to influence Amazon Business's API roadmap and prioritize features that drive customer success.

• Represent Amazon Business in technical forums, panels, and industry events, advocating for best practices and standards in B2B commerce.

• Drive thought leadership through technical publications, white papers, and collaboration with developer communities.

• Engineer next-generation integration patterns, leveraging technologies like REST APIs, cXML, and EDI to build industry-leading solutions.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
- - Enterprise-scale, technology-driven solutions in B2B commerce or procurement technology.
- - Experience architecting complex technical integrations with platforms such as Coupa, Ariba, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
- - Experience in API development, REST APIs, cXML, EDI, and other integration standards, with a focus on building scalable and secure architectures.
- - Experience working with global system integrators and managing large-scale technical transformations.
- - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline;

- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and the ability to leverage AWS tools and services for advanced integration solutions.
- Ability to work cross functionally to engage with engineering teams, product leaders, and C-level stakeholders, delivering technical strategies that drive innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of best practices and shape technical standards across partner ecosystems.
