HIRING ASSOCIATE DESIGN ENGINEER: URBAN DRAINAGE

Experience:
Preferably 5 years of Urban Drainage projects
(Keywords: Rainfall, IDF, Flood Forecasting)
We are looking for a skilled Hydraulic Modeler / Stormwater Drainage Engineer to join our team and work on impactful urban infrastructure projects – Drainage Planning, Survey Coordination, Hydrology and Hydraulics to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and associated tasks for Towns & ULBs across Odisha.
Key Responsibilities
•
Lead planning and detailed design of Urban Stormwater Drainage Systems and associated Civil Infrastructure (Inlets, Drains, Culverts, Outfalls, Detention/Retention structures).
•
Prepare and review Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for stormwater drainage projects: Hydrology (Analysis of topo drawings, contours for catchment demarcation, Hydraulic design, Cost estimation, Drawings and Specifications.
•
Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic modelling using Excel- Rainfall Analysis, Log-Pearson Type-III / Gumbel, Log-Log Table, to
develop IDF Curve
.
•
SewerGEMS / StormCAD, ArcGIS- for preparing LU LC maps, DEMs, Contours etc and similar GIS tools.
•
Apply Rational method, Unit hydrograph and other Hydrologic techniques, prepare Excel-based calculations, spreadsheets and design checks.
•
Develop design drawings in AutoCAD and coordinate with CAD/drawing team.
•
Ensure compliance with CPHEEO Manual on Storm Water Drainage (SWD) 2019 and other relevant guidelines.
•
Incorporate MoUD (Smart City / AMRUT) and NMCG guidance for projects where applicable.
•
Coordinate with clients, contractors and teams.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
B.Tech
in
Civil
/
Agricultural Engineering
(must).
M.Tech
in
Civil Engineering/ Hydraulic / Water Resource Engg
(preferred/advantageous).
Minimum
5 years
of professional experience in stormwater drainage planning & design with at least
two completed DPR
for a stormwater project / Flood Forecasting
Strong practical knowledge of hydrology, open channel flow, storm sewer design and hydraulic modelling, IDF curve.
Hands-on experience with
SewerGEMS
,
StormCAD
,
Civil 3D
,
AutoCAD
and Excel-based design workflows (Rational method, runoff estimation, hydrographs, etc.).
Thorough familiarity with
CPHEEO SWD-2019
(mandatory). Knowledge of
MoUD/AMRUT/Smart City
guidelines and
NMCG
requirements for outfall-sensitive towns is a strong plus.
Good report-writing skills, ability to prepare DPRs, technical specifications, BOQs and presentations.
