Job Description Financial Planning & Control (MIS & Budgeting)

Location: Gurugram

Department: Accounts & Finance

Reporting To: Senior Leadership / CFO

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Planner & Controller to lead the development of the Annual Operating Plan and oversee the financial operations of the organization. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, implementing policies and controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to drive business performance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing profitability, ensuring compliance, and supporting long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor financial performance against KPIs and recommend corrective actions.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements as per GAAP/IFRS.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to ensure integrity of financial data.

3. Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks (market, credit, liquidity, operational).
  • Develop and implement risk management policies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends.

4. Cash Management & Treasury

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize resources.
  • Oversee treasury functions including investments, banking, and debt financing.

5. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with statutory laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, addressing findings proactively.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.

7. Financial Modelling & Automation

  • Build and maintain financial models for business projects and investments.
  • Implement automation to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

8. MIS Analysis & Reporting

  • Oversee preparation and distribution of monthly MIS reports.
  • Analyze financial data to highlight trends, variances, and improvement areas.

Role Requirements

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is mandatory.

Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years of proven experience in financial management, accounting, and leadership roles.
  • Candidates from manufacturing companies will be strongly preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and financial regulations.
  • Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, automation tools, financial software, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and team management experience.
