At Contour, we are looking for a meticulous proofreader and content-quality owner in one. Someone who thrives on precision, has a sharp eye for language, and enjoys turning strong content into flawless learning materials. So far, our teams have focused on content creation; now we need a Proofreader to build and maintain quality assurance practices tailored to our educational model.

This role is for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves, create proofreading frameworks, and set the style and tone for future materials. You will not only correct errors but also define how clarity, tone, and consistency are maintained across all learning resources.

What You'll Do

This is not a superficial spell-check role. You will be the hands-on owner of content quality. That means:

• Carefully proofread educational documents to identify and correct grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors using Microsoft Word.
• Ensure uniformity in style, tone, and formatting across all educational materials.
• Improve readability by refining sentence structure and clarity to make content student - friendly.
• Proofread a set number of documents each week to meet project milestones and deadlines.
• Cross-check key facts, figures, and terminology to maintain academic accuracy.
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and subject matter experts to clarify ambiguous content and suggest improvements.
• Document style decisions and maintain shared editorial checklists and templates.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

The more of these you bring, the stronger the fit, but we do not expect perfection.

Must - Haves

• Bachelor's degree in science or math.
• Strong knowledge of math and science up to 12th standard.
• Previous proofreading experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of English grammar and sentence structure.
• Access to a Windows machine (Mac not supported).
• Access to Microsoft Word Version 2016 or above.
• Availability to work late-night shifts (7 PM to 3 AM), 6 days a week.

Nice-to-Haves (Not Dealbreakers)

• Basic understanding of VCE curriculum frameworks.
• Familiarity with standard style guides and editorial best practices.
• Interest in EdTech and passion for improving student learning experiences.
