Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Purchase Manager located in Kolkata. The Purchase Manager will oversee the procurement process for tea and other agri-commodities, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate cost-effective contracts. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing purchasing strategies, conducting market research to identify trends, evaluating supplier performance, and ensuring quality and timely delivery of products. The role involves working closely with the operations team to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels, ensuring seamless supply chain management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement, supplier management, and cost negotiation
  • Knowledge of agri-commodities, especially tea, and the corresponding supply chain processes
  • Analytical, research, and decision-making skills to plan purchasing strategies effectively
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for negotiating and building supplier relationships
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market dynamics
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Experience in the tea or agri-commodities industry is a significant advantage
