Position Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Location: Hosahalli Village, Madhugiri Road

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and delivering timely financial reports. This role supports month-end and year-end closing processes, maintains compliance with accounting standards, and provides financial insights to management. The Senior Accountant also mentors junior staff and contributes to process improvements.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & General Ledger

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Monitor AP/AR processes, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely vendor and customer settlements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Analyze variances between actual results and budgets, providing management with insights.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain strong internal controls and recommend improvements to safeguard company assets.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and explanations.

Tax & Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Prepare or assist with tax filings, including VAT/GST, corporate taxes, and payroll taxes.
  • Stay updated on regulatory and compliance changes that affect the business.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial operations and automate processes.
  • Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.

Team Collaboration

  • Mentor junior accountants and support their professional development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HR, operations, and procurement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
  • years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in corporate or public accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally Gold).
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
