Role & responsibilities

A. Sales and Target Achievement

  • Target Ownership: Achieve assigned primary (dealer billing) and secondary (dealer-to-customer) sales targets for the Genset product portfolio..
  • Forecasting & Planning: Develop accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and manage the sales pipeline to ensure consistent revenue flow.
  • Collections: Ensure timely collection of payments from channel partners, maintaining a healthy credit line and financial hygiene across the territory.

B. Channel & Dealer Management

  • Network Expansion: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new dealers and channel partners to maximize reach, especially in Tier II and III cities.
  • Performance Review: Conduct regular (monthly/quarterly) business reviews with key dealers, analyze their performance against agreed-upon targets, and formulate corrective action plans.
  • Dealer Training: Conduct product and sales training for dealer sales executives to enhance their technical knowledge (Genset sizing, features, CPCB norms) and selling skills.

C. Market Development & Promotion

  • Ground Activities: Plan and execute local marketing activities, retailer meets, mechanic meets, and on-ground promotional schemes to drive brand visibility and secondary sales.
  • Competitor Analysis: Continuously track competitor movements, market pricing, schemes, and product strategies, providing timely feedback to the regional management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, small builders, and electrical consultants in the region to influence specifications and purchase decisions.

D. Reporting & Administration

  • MIS: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and dealer inventory using the company's CRM system (e.g., Salesforce).

Coordination: Liaise effectively with the service, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and high customer satisfaction.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Background

B.E./B.Tech (Electrical/Mechanical) is highly preferred. An MBA in Sales/Marketing is a significant advantage.

Experience

8 -15 years of relevant sales experience in the Genset, Industrial, Power, Electrical Goods, or Heavy Machinery industry.
