- The Lead Engineer will be pivotal in ensuring the delivery of superior Vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels during the product development phase, specifically during the physical prototype stage.
- You will benchmark and set robust targets for various NVH aspects, ensuring they meet all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) requirements.
- Your responsibilities will include the careful planning and execution of NVH development work in the physical prototype stage, while closely aligning with the Design Team to implement NVH recommendations smoothly.
- You'll be tasked with delivering vehicle and system-level NVH requirements, focusing on various components such as BIW NVH, sound packages, trimmed body NVH, chassis engineering, suspension, tyre NVH, and more, all ensuring compliance with defined NVH, road, and wind targets.
- Additionally, you will prepare and track NVH risks, proactively solving issues to meet deliverables.
- Your role will also encompass developing and managing current and future NVH resources, in line with technological advancements and needs.
- As an industry frontrunner, you will be responsible for promoting new processes and technologies associated with NVH challenges.
- Regular participation in subjective jury trials will be essential to align your work with FI targets in this critical programme.
- You must possess solid knowledge regarding vehicle NVH development processes and tools that cater to meeting targets during the physical prototype phase, alongside a foundational understanding of NVH simulation and its applications.
The ideal candidate will possess 8 to 12 years of robust experience in the field of Vehicle NVH. You should have advanced skills in employing NVH tools such as Test Lab and Muller BBm, as well as familiarity with innovative techniques including ASQ, PCA, TPA, and Sound Power. Your expertise must extend to vehicle system NVH knowledge across various domains such as Powertrain, Driveline, Chassis, suspension, sound packages, mounts, seats, steering systems, and BIW, providing crucial refinement insights during both the development and benchmarking phases.
You should have a proven track record of working with new technologies and processes within NVH, as well as an understanding of design and manufacturing with respect to NVH countermeasure aspects. Your experience will contribute significantly to driving forward NVH excellence within the team.
This role particularly favours candidates with experience in the automotive industry, which is essential for gaining an in-depth understanding of the significant NVH challenges encountered throughout vehicle development. An awareness of contemporary engineering practices in automotive applications will not only enhance your contributions but also foster innovation within our passionate team.
QualificationsA graduate or postgraduate degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering is essential for this position. This educational foundation will equip you with the necessary knowledge to comprehend advanced concepts related to vehicle dynamics and NVH analysis. Moreover, possessing additional certifications in NVH testing, automotive system dynamics, or noise control engineering will provide an added advantage in your application.
We encourage continual professional development, and attendance at workshops or seminars aimed at the latest automotive engineering trends is greatly welcomed. This commitment to ongoing learning will help you stay relevant in a rapidly evolving field.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey complex technical information effectively across various audiences and stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, embracing cross-disciplinary collaborations that drive project success.
- Proactive problem-solving capabilities combined with critical thinking skills, particularly under dynamic and high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated commitment to continual learning and professional growth in the fast-paced realm of automotive engineering.
