Operational monitoring

  • Track vehicle movements: Use GPS tracking software to monitor vehicle locations, routes, and movements in real-time.
  • Monitor driver behavior: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as speeding, idling time, harsh braking, and rapid acceleration to ensure safe driving habits and compliance with company policies.
  • Set up and manage alerts: Configure and respond to system alerts, such as geo-fencing (entry/exit from specific zones), unauthorized usage, or device tampering.
  • Coordinate with drivers: Communicate with drivers regarding route changes, delays, and emergencies to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.

Reporting and analysis

  • Generate reports: Create daily, weekly, and monthly reports on fleet performance, including fuel usage, mileage, on-time arrivals, and idling time.
  • Analyze data: Review tracking data to identify trends, optimize routes, reduce operational costs, and improve overall fleet efficiency.
  • Compile logs: Maintain detailed records of vehicle movements, maintenance schedules, and incidents.

Technical support and maintenance

  • Troubleshoot devices: Handle the installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of GPS devices and software.
  • Device health checks: Conduct regular checks on device health and status to ensure proper functioning.
  • Coordinate with support teams: Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level support or technical teams as needed.

Emergency response

  • Handle exceptions: Identify on-road exceptions and take immediate remedial action.

Respond to emergencies: Assist in coordinating a response during emergency situations, such as breakdowns or theft.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/AGE

1 to 3 years or logistics role

QUALIFICATION

A bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field such as logistics, supply chain management, or IT.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: Manufacturing industry

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with fleet tracking software, MS Office (especially Excel for reporting), and an understanding of GPS and telematics technology.
  • Behavioural Skills:

Strong communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills. Must be a detail-oriented individual with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
