You will experience these qualities of passion, pride and aspiration in many ways — from a rich set of career development programs to support of community service projects to social events that foster fun and relationship building across our global community.
The Role
As a Triage Testing Engineer, you will be a key part of our project delivery organization, helping to improve the speed and quality of our customer deployments. We are looking for passionate and detail-oriented professionals to join our Triage Testing Team, which plays a critical role in improving engineering efficiency and enhancing project delivery timelines. You will work across global projects involving SCADA, EMS, GMS, ADMS, DERMS platforms, to resolve test issues and contribute to high-quality utility system implementations. This role offers a unique opportunity to build deep product expertise and play a pivotal role in digital transformation of electric utilities.
Your Impact
- Review variances encountered during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and other system validation events, and triage each variance to determine the appropriate resolution path: configuration update, SME involvement, software defect fix, or product enhancement.
- Assess efforts and timelines for resolution of variances, and categorize variances as per criticality / importance.
- For product enhancement items, engage with project teams to assess contractual commitments and recommend follow-up actions.
- Collaborate closely with Project Engineers, Power Systems Engineers, Product Managers, and the R&D team to drive timely resolution.
- Maintain detailed documentation of variance triaging decisions and actions taken.
- Track the progress of issues through resolution, escalating where necessary to prevent project delays.
- Contribute to the creation of knowledge artifacts to help prevent recurrence of common issues.
- Support process improvement initiatives by identifying patterns across projects.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to close testing gaps.
- Help reinforce testing best practices and promote proactive variance identification across engineering teams.
What You'll Need
- 2+ years of relevant experience in SCADA/EMS/ADMS system testing, commissioning, or technical support.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (required).
- Master's degree in a related domain is a plus.
- Hands-on knowledge on utility control systems, preferably on control center decision support softwares such as SCADA / EMS / GMS / ADMS / DERMS.
- Knowledge on utility control systems use-cases.
- Familiarity with test processes such as FAT, SAT, and unit-level testing.
- Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues in real-time systems.
- Ability to work with technical documentation, logs, and configuration files.
- Experience with related systems such as Traction SCADA systems, Substation automation systems, or enterprise level decision support systems such as GE Eterra, ABB network manager, Siemens Spectrum Power and the like is good to have.
- Familiarity with issue-tracking systems such as JIRA including experience with creation of dashboards.
- Exposure to scripting (Python, shell) and configuration management tools.
- Understanding of software work request processes and product lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage multiple issues in parallel and follow through to closure.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work with cross-functional global teams.
- Detail-oriented approach with a proactive attitude.
- Familiarity with working in matrixed or project-based organizational environments.
- Travel Expectations: Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required for on-site project support, particularly during acceptance testing phases.
