We are seeking a Senior Atlassian Consultant with a strong engineering mindset and hands-on experience in planning and executing Atlassian instance migrations. The ideal candidate will lead the technical implementation of migrating Atlassian environments—such as Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence—from one instance to another, ensuring minimal disruption and full data integrity throughout the process.

This role includes designing and executing detailed migration plans, configuring system integrations (e.g., SSO, user directories), and optimizing server-side performance. You will also be responsible for building scalable Confluence structures to support documentation, project planning, and knowledge management across engineering teams.

Your ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, document implementation strategies, and guide cross-functional teams through change management will be critical to success. Experience working remotely with distributed teams and communicating clearly via Confluence, video, and chat is essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence).
  • Proven experience in executing complex instance migrations (e.g., cloud-to-cloud, server-to-cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of Jira configurations, including workflows, permissions, custom fields, and automation.
  • Experience integrating Atlassian tools with SSO/SAML, LDAP, or user directories.
  • Familiarity with Confluence design and governance for team collaboration and documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and tune performance in both server and cloud environments.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in remote, distributed teams.
  • Experience using Confluence, video conferencing, and chat platforms for collaboration and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Atlassian certifications (ACP-100, ACP-120, etc.).
  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash, Groovy) for automation or data manipulation.
  • Exposure to Agile, ITSM, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience in regulated or enterprise environments (finance, healthcare, government, etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute Atlassian instance migrations, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
  • Design and implement migration strategies, including pre-migration assessments, testing, and post-migration validation.
  • Configure system-level integrations such as SSO, LDAP/Active Directory, and third-party plugins.
  • Tune performance for on-premise or cloud Atlassian environments.
  • Create and maintain Confluence structures that scale with the needs of engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and deliver technical solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Document architecture, migration steps, workflows, and best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members and clients.
  • Support change management and ensure smooth adoption of updated or migrated systems.
